My Ancestors

on my Mother's side

You may enjoy viewing this information on my Ancestors.

It may help you find some of your relatives.

It may also help me find something about my Great Grandfather, Matthew Walton Lacy, who was from Louisa County, Virginia.

He was born on April 20, 1859.  He married Cora Alice Fultz  on June 5, 1884.

They were both deaf, they met at the School for the Deaf in Staunton, Virginia.

They had 3 children:  Carrie Lee Lacy, Bessie Bell Lacy and Claude Walton Lacy.

Matthew Walton Lacy left Cora Alice Fultz after their 3rd child was born and no one has heard from him since.

Cora took the children back to Rockbridge County to live with her father, Isaac Fultz.  She allowed her older sister, Mary Fultz Crist to adopt Claude.  So his name became Claude Walton Lacy Crist.

Someone has the story that Matthew Walton Lacy  went to Mississippi to teach.

The School for the Deaf has his death listed as sometime in 1890.

The Fultz family does not know anything and the Lacy family is so hard to trace.  I am hoping that some of the Crist family may know something.

If you can give my any information on him, please email me.
