Paperweights
The colors and beauty are hypnotizing and are reminders of the beautiful things in life.
Paperweights also remind me of people. Each one is different. They are all made by hand and even though they may have the same colors and shapes, there are differences you can notice, when you look at them carefully.
A paperweight is a creation of its creator. In the creator's mind there is an idea that comes to fruition and the idea becomes reality when the glass is blown and colors are added. The finest paperweights are signed by their maker and are usually a limited edition. Some are cut glass and the hues and shapes are beautiful reflections of light and color.
Paperweights are also useful. They can actually hold paper down and keep it from blowing away. Some are used as art objects, some as gifts, some hidden and others merely collect dust. We human beings are just like paperweights. We are all beautiful creations of God. We are all different and all have use and value. However, some of us are not as useful as we could be. Some of us hide our talents and skills and others merely collect dust.
As God's creation we are all different but we are all "beautiful" and "signed" by our Creator. He breathed the breath of life into all of us. A paperweight is most beautiful when it is polished and put in the proper light so it can truly reflect its beauty. The same is true of God's children. We are the most beautiful and useful when we are polished by His love and presence. Then the Light of Jesus' love and life are seen through us.
You are unique and beautiful. You are unlike any other individual ever created and you are special. I challenge you to think of yourself as a paperweight...
